Some of you may have noticed, I’m more than a little late this week.
The 26th, I lost my dad to Alzheimer’s. Not a surprise by any means, but sad nonetheless. I am grateful he is no longer suffering, and he crossed as peacefully as I could have ever hoped for. I’m beyond grateful as well for the time I was able to help look after him. It was very meaningful to me.
The 27th, I followed it up with a spectacular fall, breaking my leg in two places and requiring surgery.
I know, right? Go big or go home. I (eventually) did both. HAHAHA!
I am doing pretty well, all things considered and am handling my enforced slow-down with all the grace and humor I can muster. I’m also working (a little) and resting (a lot). So that’s why I’m here a few days late, but here nonetheless.
And I can’t help but think these cards were for me every bit as much, if not more so, than for you. Either way, I’m willing to share, though.
Next Week in the Cards
Here, both the Seven of Swords (Politics) and the Tower (Breakthrough) showed up reversed. From the Osho Zen Tarot, which was the deck within easy reach of bed. Flipped for the picture.
When what’s been hidden comes out, all Hell breaks loose. Or at least, it seems that way.
I think it might be more accurate, however, to say that when the unsaid is said, then breakthrough becomes possible.
I’ll tell you right now, though: breakthroughs can be messy. They can be raw and painful. They can suck, but they also set the stage for a stronger, more honest circumstance.
Everybody intellectually wants the “breakthrough” experience, the sudden and substantial leap forward, but emotionally tries to avoid the chaos and pain that’s required to do it that way.
This coming week, I’m expecting hidden feelings, thoughts, behaviors, those things we’ve glossed over to get along or work things out to become more readily apparent. I’m seeing this both on the personal and collective scales. The politics will begin to break down, leaving a trail of realizations in its place.
Advice wise, if this causes disruption, so be it. Just sit back and let the dust settle. No other action is required or even particularly helpful. And for sure, the final fallout will almost without question be less than what you’d expect. But the process could be a little harsh.
Just keep your heart open, okay? This is where you find healing. This is where everyone can come to adjust to the new, more honest reality and sometimes, others you thought were not coming will meet you right there. This is where you go from cautious, strained and tentative to honest, real and sure.
It may hurt a little in the process; growing often does. But it’s very, very worth it.
Be gentle out there, first with yourself and then with the rest of the world. Mars is fixing to go direct and all that forward momentum we’ve been craving should begin showing itself in a few days.
Happy 2023, friends. Much love.

p.s. I have been accepting orders for the 2023 Zodiac Look-Ahead. Please note that I will probably not be FAST with working my way through these. If you’ve already ordered one and are not cool with the wait, let me know and I’ll gladly refund you. If that’s okay with you, great! I’ll get to them as I can. Either way, we’ll figure it out. And thanks for your support.
