The gray figures of the Lovers in Mystic Dreamer are not my favorite as they seem a touch emancipated, not to mention ashen! But what are you gonna do? I’m also getting a little tired of seeing this card reversed; seems like I was just dealing with it, although checking I realize it was at the start of this month. Tarot flashback time?
When I see a “good card” inverted, I often read it as a situation having positive energy but not fully expressing. It’s blocked, potential present but not promised. The card is associated with Gemini, so the duality and reflective quality of the Lovers’ energy is pretty well determined. Inverted, those mixed feelings are even more prominent.
What you’re objecting to may well be an unflinchingly accurate reflection of yourself. Find a way to love this part of yourself, and you can love anybody else.
