02/06/14: Rationalization Fail / 7 of Swords Rx

“The ends justify the means” is rationalization, pure and simple. Beware those claiming to be friends who have mixed motives.

Questioning an alliance? A reversed Seven of Swords suggests against outright deception, but with remaining obfuscation nonetheless. Lately, I’ve been wanting to call this card out as self-delusion. But it could just as easily speak to hidden agendas.

Maybe the friend is confused. Or maybe it’s you. Be aware of people proclaiming friendship with vested interests, mixed motivations, or dual agendas. They may be telling themselves they are “hurting nobody,” but I’m not buying it.

Don’t be this brand of “friend,” man! I tell you, it’s not a good idea. “The ends justify the means” approach is a moral black hole. Once you’ve lost your integrity, it’s damn hard to get it back.

Are you seeing these kinds of rationalizations
