A soft knock on the door. Valentine’s Day.
A young man stood there—early twenties, maybe late teens. Pink African Violet, oversized card in a red envelope, Bible. That unmistakable air of earnestness—the mix of optimism and purity you only find in the young.
Wrong address. I gave him directions. As he hit the bottom of the stairs, he turned: “I’m meeting my grandma for the first time today.” He was glowing. Too big not to share.
“Good luck!”
“Thank you.” A beat. “Bless you.”
“You too.” I was right about the Bible. And the encounter hit harder than I ever would have expected. (Eclipse season, y’all.)
Forty plus years shunned by family. Cheated out of watching my nieces and nephews grow up. Calling me “black sheep” is laughably understated—they consider me a literal agent of Satan.
So watching this earnest young man—so moved to meet his grandmother for the first time—hit me like both a hug and knife at once.
No surprise, then, what the cards show this week.
In the Cards
This week, we have the lovely Star Tarot Deck to drive us home.

Outlook: The Fool
The Fool is purity. Honest, curious, open. Forever young in spirit. Eternally seeking, questioning, exploring. Like that young man at my door, the Fool searches for answers, simply because he wants to understand.
Energy’s intense right now. People are questioning, seeking answers, exploring fresh starts. You might encounter them—or be one of them. Or both.
Advice: King of Swords Reversed
Reversed, the King of Swords cuts especially sharp—but he’d best not cut until he’s certain. Is he grappling with painful truth or ultimate-but-ugly blessing? Maybe both. But he needs to clarify as much as anything else. He cannot afford to wear his heart on his sleeve quite yet.
This week, hold your tongue until you have clarity. The pieces are coming together, the picture forming, but it’s not complete. Don’t speak your revelation before you understand what it means. Work within the framework, stay on schedule, but wait for the full truth to crystallize. It’s then, you’ll know what to do.
Like that young man finding his grandmother—or me feeling the weight of those lost connections—some truths need time to fully land. I think I saw his car outside her house for a few hours. He would have certainly got some questions answered in that time, but all that he heard will no doubt take a while to sink in and integrate.
Keep seeking like the Fool, but wield the King’s discipline. Know what you’re looking for before you make decisions and announcements based on what you’ve found.
Now, for You
Where are you in your own search? Where are you finding clarity, and what pieces are left to be filled in?
