“I don’t know,” I said to a friend. “So many people are focused on what’s right with the world and what’s wrong with the world, as if it’s it’s their personal responsibility to give a giant thumbs up or thumbs down on the rest of humanity.” I gesture, for added effect.
“I barely know what’s going on in MY head, let alone what’s going on everyone else’s heads. I am just not very interested in deciding what’s right and wrong for everybody else.”
I mean, if you like that sort of thing, I’m not going to try to talk you out of it. But for me? I’m a lot happier just staying in my own lane. That’s enough.
And staying in one’s own lane would be a very workable strategy for the coming week.

Maybe it looks like things aren’t going your way…or what you’d consider the “right way.” Don’t sweat it. The wheel spins too and fro and the time and even the folks that think they know what’s “good” and what’s “awful” cannot see the full picture. That takes perspective and knowledge of time and space people just don’t have.
So rather than worry over all these big questions, advice for the week is focus on the moment, the day-to-day details of what you’re doing now, on putting one foot in front of the other. Focus on taking care of physical needs and practical concerns and always, just doing the best you can with what you have to work with. This is a narrow field of vision here.
Appearances don’t matter. Long term projections are irrelevant. This week, be in the now and do the best you can with what you’ve got to work with. That’s your only job.
