09/02/12: Part of the Whole | Wheel of Fortune

wheel-tarot-meaning

EVERYTHING is connected, everything has meaning. It’s all part of the same cycle, the same wheel.

Here’s the Wheel of Fortune (Jupiter) from the Cosmic Tarot—the world is but a Mandela–upon which to reflect? Zodiac glyphs encircle the center, with planets arranged to illustrate the Tree of Life.* Element glyphs are in each of the corners—the wheel encompasses all!

Often seen with big reversals in fortune (for good or ill), the Wheel does not discriminate. No one is above or below it’s reach. Upright, luck’s often taking a turn for the better, but not always. And really, I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out, “better” is quite subjective.

I talk sometimes about Hermetic Law, as above so below? Yeah. I say things now that, at one time, I would have considered crazy! Sometimes, that “one time” isn’t especially long ago. But as I watch, it’s like the Universe is unfolding for me, a beautiful flower, one petal at a time.

The message I’m getting from the Wheel today, everything has a reason, everything has a place, each little bit of energy, it has a spot in the overall flow. Fortune, good or ill, depends on perspective but even what seems ugly? There is something there, it’s part of a bigger picture. We may not see the full breadth of the picture for many years, maybe not even within our physical lifetime. But it doesn’t mean it’s not there…

What do you see in the Wheel?

* Thanks to Kathryn for the insight on the symbolism of this deck.
