11/24/11: Happy Thanksgiving! | Temperance?

I always laugh when I get something like Temperance (Sagittarius) for Thanksgiving! (No, this isn’t the first time.) This version from the Rosetta Tarot is Thoth flavored, titled “Art.” Diana, the Moon Goddess, merges with Apollo, the Sun God, for a very androgynous, yin-yang synthesis off all that is.

And in a nutshell, that is what Temperance is all about—the synthesis. You take two, combine them to make one. (Let’s just hope it’s not two pies combined to make one tummy ache!) You can work both active and passive, speaking and listening, doing and waiting, conviction and empathy. All is rectified, set right through the process of integration.

Seeing Art, I know not to consider any idea, action or circumstance in isolation. It is all part of the bigger picture and for anything to work properly now, it needs integration. Look at the whole thing, and seek ways to unify all considerations fairly.

Today, I’m thankful for all the insights I’m able to grasp, whether they feel good, bad or indifferent. It’s all part of this canvas we paint, the energy we work with, that is the human journey. There is a place for all, where we each fit. Harmony doesn’t come from merely giving or taking now—it comes from integrating all perspectives into a whole. This a table big enough to seat all.
