Rx 8 of Swords: Fresh Starts

I’m writing this on Thanksgiving, from home–the old home. My daughter lives next door, and I wanted one more holiday meal as neighbors.

My daughter being my neighbor is probably what I’ll miss most about living here.

I have lots I am appreciating right now. It’s true, my life is still in chaos mode. I hesitate to call it “transitional,” because while the moving-houses part is obviously transitional, the change part is not.

I was dreaming about a fresh start for quite a while, honestly. While this may not be exactly what I envisioned, there is not question I’m smack dab in the middle of a very fresh start. Since this is where I am, I intend to make the best of it.

Anxious and maybe a little excited to see what the next leg of the journey brings: this may very well describe next week for many, as evidenced by the weekly forecast.

Next Week in Tarot

Outlook for the week is the reversed Eight of Swords–a card so worn in my deck, I can identify it from the back. I don’t look as I’m cutting cards so I won’t be tempted to circumvent.

Advice is the Lovers reversed. Cards pictured from Radiant Rider-Waite mini.

The door is open. But you’ve probably not checked doors recently. You’ve been too busy managing what’s going on in the room.

Or maybe I’m projecting.

Either way, “I’m afraid to look” is the feeling here. Maybe you don’t want to know exactly how bad things are. Maybe you aren’t ready to know if that break you’ve been hoping for is really coming through or not.

But maybe…maybe, just maybe…it’s better than you thought, too. No matter what, though, it’s better to deal with what’s in front of you, one step at a time.

This is a forecast of freedom, folks. But it’s not the kind of freedom that feels like wild abandon. It’s more like the type of freedom you feel with a sigh of relief, once you get up the nerve to face your life head on.

This week, consider it all: what seems good, what seems bad, and what seems a little ugly.

Keep as good an outlook as you can muster. Advice-wise, we’ve got the Lover’s reversed. Be looking to march to your own drum, harmonizing with your inner guidance as opposed to outside advice or societal norms.

You may not quite be in sync (with yourself) yet, but you can move in that direction. That’s the goal.

It’s a week for fresh starts. Use yours wisely.

And be safe out there, friends. Happy Thanksgiving. I appreciate you.
