Today’s Tarot forecast is the Three of Cups reversed or Lord of Abundance, associated with Mercury in Cancer, followed by “Faith,” better known as the Hierophant or Magus of the Eternal Gods, associated with Taurus. I drew the Three of Cups for the daily Tarot and with that topic—running short on friendship, celebration and creativity—I asked as follow-up what we might do about that. Initially, the two seem like an unlikely pair.
The reversed Three of Cups is like attending a party wearing a wet blanket over your head. There is some sense of socialization, but it’s muted and not too satisfying. You’ll still realize you’re there, but can’t enjoy it especially. Connection and celebration would be pretty welcome right about now, so looking to turn that party experience right-side-up is worth the trouble.
Having the Hierophant as “the answer,” I first wondered if I should suggest church—getting companionship in a place of worship? But not everyone needs or wants to express spirituality via formal group. If you look at the word Hierophant’s etymology, it’s ancient Greek for someone who interprets and introduces others to ancient mysteries. It doesn’t require a traditional organization. A Tarot class would serve as well as Sunday services here.
While Taroists seem to identify with the High Priestess, the Hierophant is also keeper (and distributer) of arcane knowledge. Maybe the Faith called for here can be as simple speaking our truth and hence, feeling less alone with our beliefs. Or could we access a sense joy, celebration and creativity by immersing ourselves in teachings that we find make us better. Even simpler, maybe a dose of faith could be delivered merely by interacting with others who uplift us, and whom we uplift.
The reversed Three of Cups paired with Faith would have us seek the company of those whose integrity and mastery help light our way, in whatever the subject. We hope to give similar in return. Tarot Threes are creative—art and music works perfectly here, too. It’s a sense of connection and joy more than a specific event.
But whatever you’re activity, seek kinship among those whom you respect, and have faith knowing doing that which brings you joy is often a shortcut to accessing your higher self. Emotions are your best spiritual compass.
How do you celebrate and connect?

perfect timing. the message rings true for me both literally and figuratively. starting a spiritual journey tomorrow and a pilgrimmage of faith with my family to a very important destination.
thanks Dixie!
Today I’m going to celebrate with the grandbaby by worshipping the outdoors. Hopefully the weather holds out. But if not, we shall dance in the rain!

I spoke with an old family friend who is a spiritual counselor. She is a very wise woman, I mean Hierophant…
