“The secret of being a bore… is to tell everything.” –Voltaire
One thing about this lady: quiet and still she may be, but boring she’s not.
What’s written on that scroll of secret knowledge? The High Priestess knows, but you can bet your fanny pack she’s not about to talk! Of all in the Tarot universe, she’s the safest keeper of secrets. That veil behind her is held up by solid pillars, and it’s only the faintest glimpse showing through of the waters behind it. Even without being able to see more though, I’m betting those waters run deep.
Rather than tell you what she has to say, I want to share some quotes by Voltaire, a French writer from the 1700’s who appears to have had a particularly good grasp on the nature of her energy. Any of these quotes I can imagine uttered by the mysterious seer herself. If she were to talk, that is.
“Judge a man by his questions rather than his answers.”
“It is said that the present is pregnant with the future.”
“We never live; we are always in the expectation of living.”
“We must distinguish between speaking to deceive and being silent to be reserved.”
“It is the flash which appears, the thunderbolt will follow.”
“Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do.”
“Is there anyone so wise as to learn by the experience of others?”
“Meditation is the dissolution of thoughts in Eternal awareness or Pure consciousness without objectification, knowing without thinking, merging finitude in infinity.”
“It is not enough to conquer; one must learn to seduce.”
Are you getting a message from the High Priestess today? (You don’t have to tell if you don’t want to!)
