Minding Your Own Business is Good Medicine: Tarot Forecast, Oct 31 – Nov 6, 2016

“I’ve decided to forget worrying about my kids,” I told my mom the other day. “I am staying out of their business completely and I’m a lot happier this way.”

“Really, Dixie? I don’t know how you can manage it.”

I was surprised. Really surprised. I thought my mom was pretty darned good at this! With the exception of an occasional lapse, she almost never tells us what to do or expresses judgement over our choices. (Okay. I’m not counting that face she makes sometimes when she sees something she doesn’t like. She can’t help that.)

“Oh, I worry all the time,” Mom confided. “It never stops. I just try to keep my mouth shut unless I’m asked.”

She clearly does a pretty good job of it.

For me, it’s not about caring. I care every iota as much as I ever have.

It’s just that my kids are adults now and I respect that. I respect the fact their choices are not mine, any more than my choices are my mother’s. I respect the fact they have access to the exact same resources as I do–those of the Universal stream of wellness. And I respect that, as individuals, it’s THEIR JOB to live their lives and figure out what they want and how to live. Not mine.

Also, it’s a whole lot nicer to say, “I’m sure you’ll figure it out” and mean it than to try and figure it out for them. It’s just good medicine, minding your own business, all around.

This week? This would be a very handy philosophy to adopt in general. (Okay, I think “always,” not just this week. But I am admittedly biased.)

Tarot Forecast Halloween Week

Happy Halloween, y’all! I decided to skip the Zombie Tarot this week even though the forecast begins on Halloween because why? I didn’t feel like using it. Reason enough, man.

If you’re into audio, here’s an audio version of this weekly forecast reading. You can also subscribe to the audios (and whatever else I toss up there) on iTunes here or you can download the files or subscribe via rss here.  Because who knows what I might decide to record and toss up there?

We’ve got some inverted cards, especially in the beginning of the week. So the energy is there, but not freely expressing. So we’ll probably have a slow start to the week, but no worries. It clears nicely by the end of the week. Looking at themes, I’m seeing the idea of being responsible for your own self and only your own self, and butting out of everybody else’s self. Even if you “know they are wrong!” Especially if you feel that way. You know why?

Trusting another to work out their own life, their own thoughts, and their own course is an act of respect and love. Anything short of that is sending the message, “I don’t trust you.” Not only that, but “I don’t trust your connection to the Universe to get you through this is the best way possible. So I have will do for you.” That, my friends, is not true and it’s a fancy way of avoiding mirrors.

Monday, Ten of Pentacles rx: I like this card in general. But today, I want to tell you to be aware of your purchases and put off impulse purchases. I don’t see this as heavy, not a big financial issue, but more like buying something and seeing it on sale the next day. Also? Extrapolate the concepts towards energy resources and not just cash. Like you may start something that requires more time, energy or effort than you were prepared for. So expenditures of any sort may demand more than you had initially budgeted. Not a shortage so much as just more than you expected.

Tuesday, The Empress rx: The Empress is a peach no matter how she shows up. Today though…don’t mother those that don’t want to be mothered. Don’t meddle or offer unsolicited advice. You’ll have much better luck focusing on your OWN projects instead of other people’s projects.

Wednesday, Ten of Wands: Here’s one I’d rather see inverted! But you get what you get. Many tasks. Feelings of being burdened with responsibilities. Ask yourself, which are truly yours. Some may not be. Secondly, prioritize for the important stuff and let everything else go. Focus first and foremost on what matters truly, and the day will go well.

Thursday, Queen of Wands rx: Normally when this lady shows up reversed, there can be potential for being stubborn or overcontrolling. But right now, let’s hone in on your disposition and general attitude. There is a tendency to be fussy over stuff that isn’t that big deal in the bigger picture. Like a child who has missed their nap, there may be a little crankiness out in the wild. If your mood is off, cut yourself and everybody else some slack. Withdraw instead of striking out and allow yourself time to get back to your happy space.

Friday, Eight of Wands: Stuff may feel unsettled and up in the air. But the energy is moving quickly and it will be settled in short order. Know that all the components already in place. Like someone who has already sent off a letter that cannot be retrieved, what’s going down is a done deal. So let it be and call upon your faith because that’s what you’ve got.

Saturday, Nine of Cups: Weekend looks great! This is “the wish card.” All is right with the world kind of feeling. Expect a good day and enjoy it.

Sunday, Four of Swords: It’s an opportunity to set down your burdens and rest and replenish. It should be a happy, fun and replenishing time for most over the weekend. Have fun!

Overview/Advice: Page of Cups: Be loving, be kind, and live from your heart, yes. But to expand, pay a lot of attention to your feelings! They are your GPS. If it feels icky, don’t touch it! Please don’t let your brain talk you out of it. You don’t need a list of reasons why you don’t feel it. And likewise, if you’re feeling excited, go with it! Don’t separate yourself from your own internal signal by discounted it. Your emotions are extremely important, this is where you get so much guidance! So throughout the week, look to let your emotions chart your course. Honor them, as they are SO valuable and important! A lot of psychic and intuitive info comes in this way.

Affirmation: I am at peace with my age. What are you gonna do if you’re not? Makes a lot of sense to make peace with whatever you cannot change. If you know me, you know I pretty much don’t care about my age. Your age doesn’t dictate what you can and cannot do. What’s in your heart and your desires drives this. I love being my age–I like the life experience and the confidence that comes with a few miles, along with a little broader perspective. But you will feel how you feel. I would suggest, however, you look for things to appreciate about whatever age or place you happen to be, you’ll be much happier. Look to stuff to feel good about no matter what!

You cannot control others. You are happier when you live life not obsessing over what you cannot control. Be happy. Live your own life and focus on what matters to you. Show everyone the same respect. It’s the best advice I can give you…for this week and yes, forever beyond, too.

Are you at peace with what cannot be changed?

This forecast uses the Tarot Nova mini deck, and the Louise Hay Power Thought Cards for the affirmation. If you dig my stuff, you may like my book, Everyday Tarot Archives, and/or a consult. Be well! ~Dix
