Having a “smidgen” of Virgo and Jupiter in Gemini, I know I have the capacity to overthink into oblivion. I can plan to perfection for YEARS, and have! That doesn’t really get much done, though. In fact, it’s kind of the opposite, because easier, real world action gets put off as feeling not good enough. Today, we’ve got a nudge to move instead of just plan.
Today’s Tarot is the Queen of Wands—Water in Fire. She especially manages the emotional (Water) elements of getting it done (Fire), whatever “it” may be. Her attire and huge Sunflower is good indication she generally has a sunny disposition! But be aware—she’s none too pleasant when you cross her, having the capacity to be exceptionally unyielding and stubborn. We would do well emulating her resourcefulness and drive. But the bull-headed part, not so much.
The rules of dealing with this Queen are about being respectful, NOT telling her what to do, and staying out of her way. She’ll roll right over you otherwise! However, if you would like to influence her, appeal to her passion and drive to make a difference. She’s makes a great team player, so long as she’s convinced you’re on the same team! The trick is offering up input in a non-critical, collaborative manner. Share your commitment to her goals before offering feedback and you’ll get her attention.
If you’re not a Queen of Wands sort (and I’m not), perhaps you can learn a bit from her style. Organize, rally the troops, and above all, keep moving! Keep your sights on the higher aims of what you’re doing and for God’s sakes, do stay open to input from others. Not every suggestion is a criticism. If you’re working on what’s in the highest good for all, then be sure to touch base with “all,” okay? What you can do alone may be awesome, but what you can do with others’ support surpasses awesome. Be the catalyst for the higher good.
You have any Queen of Wands in you, or in your life?

OMG!! It looks like you explained me to the “T”. I can completely see and understand this cards energy, because I am exactly like it! Wow what a great comformation of the soul! Maybe I should show this to the husband, he still does not get this about me.
Yes, I am a lot like the Queen of Wands. I do get her a lot. And indeed, I hate being told what to do, or even seeing people tell others what to do. That’s when I find myself blurting out something really cutting. However, I can deal with criticism as long as it’s not a passive-aggressive tactic to control — that always irritates the crap out of me. Like, for instance, the other day I was making a salad, and my friend said, “Oh, are you really going to put that much garlic in it?”, on top of all these other little comments. I was so annoyed. I would much rather she would have said: “I can’t handle that much garlic, would you mind putting less in the salad?” I cut back nevertheless, but it took me a good while to quell my crankiness.
Well, I didn’t think I resembled the Queen of Wands until I read your description.
This part..
“If you’re working on what’s in the highest good for all, then be sure to touch base with “all,” okay? What you can do alone may be awesome, but what you can do with others’ support surpasses awesome.”
LOL..smack on my head
I do. I find that I shift between them all, depending on my mood and mindset. I’m more Pentacles/cups, but I do love it when the Queen of Wands shows up for me, because I know depressing feelings will disappear for a while. Taking me out of my head (swords), emotions (cups), and my home/dixiblog/domains/afoolsjourney.com/public_html if really out of it (pents), the wands take over and bring some new energy in for a while.
I am her this week, especially since being blamed for someone’s breakup, after he sort of hit on me, then acted all upset a week later, when I hadn’t responded. these men who seem to be so attracted to me, are usually attached to someone else, and they are all fixed in sun signs. they’re more self-pitying than any woman I know (including myself), and I have no respect for them. I would prefer to be in pents energy, but she is right for me this week – cutting the crap.
So, um.. yeah. :-))
My birth card is the Four of Wands. I need positive energy, warmth, good intentions, honesty.
Now that I think about it, this song reminds me of her, or her younger self, the princess of wands (in the druidcraft): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wte98vZZoBs
I’ve been listening to this for the past few days, and reminds me of the “me” that disappears so often now. It makes me happy.
Sorry for the extra comments. I tend to put music and tarot together – like the joie de vivre eight of wands, with the song above.
