“If you do not conquer self, you will be conquered by self.” –Napoleon Hill
I used to know a whole lot more about life than I do now. Before I grew up, I had the whole “adult thing” down pat. Before I married, I was the absolute authority on being married. Before I had kids, I knew everything there was to know about raising some! Dixie the expert would be more than glad to enlighten you. All you had to do was ask. Ha!
A few smack downs later, you figure out there is a lot more to this whole living thing than what’s visible from the outside. Just having experiences personally completely changes the scenery. I shed a little smug and grew a little more compassion.
Today’s Tarot is the reversed Magician or The Magnus of Power, associated with Mercury. Surrounded by yellow (rational thought), his superpower is accessing and focusing the energy brought to the table by all the Tarot suits—physical, mental, emotional, and creative. He raises and channels to control the forces.
The Magician’s stance echoes the Hermetic maxim, “As above, so below.” His intention (inner robe) is pure (white), supported by outward action (red cloak). Inverted, look to self-sabotage, situations not under your control, or not exercising personal power when it’s within your reach to do so.
The Magician’s power is self-generated. He attempts to control only himself and through the impact of his behavior and example, effects ripple outward. This is the flip side of yesterday’s committee—you can’t control the group, but you don’t need to. You control YOU, and in doing so, attract the group dynamics that suit your needs. It all starts at home, man.
Do you feel in control?

LOL
Do I feel in control. Yep, of me.
:turtle:
Glad I’m not the only recovering know-it-all, Josi.
Yes
Yay, Caroline!!
I drew this card as a suggested action toward a situation and had forgotten you pulled it earlier. This “control yourself, avoid self-sabotage and exersizing your personal power” are exactly the confirmation I needed.
Dixie, you rock.:chic:
Awesomeness, Josi! And you rock as well, m’dear!
