08/17/12: Impetuous Words | Knight of Swords

knight of swords meaning

Words have weight. How much and what ways that words carry weight has been on my radar and evidently, Tarot concurs.

The Knight of Swords—Air in Air—tells it’s time for the Brigade of Reason to charge through! As young men, Tarot Knights can be a bit impulsive, so bear that in mind when composing your speech, ‘kay?

Knights take up causes. A white horse would signal pure intention. Pledged to the suit of Swords, this Knight would normally carry ideas, words or plans, often off to battle. We’re in the Air element, so it’s intellectual property of some sort. But see how quickly he’s galloping along, sword held high against the wind? Notice, too, how uneven the landscape. There is possibility his full-throttle delivery ride is going to result in unintended consequences. There could be injuries involved.

When this Knight appears, know that logical planning, clarification, prioritizing and getting down to the nitty-gritty are likely on the calendar. (You DO have a calendar, right? Or a list? A plan?) Thinking it through, getting clarity before charging ahead, helps tremendously in dealing with Knight of Swords energy.

Be especially clear in communication now, but at the same time, look to be sensitive as well, okay? Bluntness or trampling with your message is a distinct possibility. Timing is relevant, as is tact. The Knight of Swords tends to lack both. The good intentions DO help, quite a bit, but planning how to lay them out thoughtfully increases your chance for achieving the desired ends.

Note to self: Give more thought in delivering needed messages. Some patience is in order.

Does this Knight have anything to say to you?

  1. Woo baby! Just had a loooong discussion with my husband about the need to make a plan, strategy, list, etc. He just wanted to rush out to the store before we knew the dang recipe. (That was before I read this….!)
