“I feel like a sucker. All those times, I knew something was off. I just let it pass. Because really, what are you gonna do about it anyway? It’s not like you can call it out and expect to magically find honesty and kindness where it wasn’t before.”
What happens when you think you know [a person | the facts | a situation | whatever], but find out, you don’t? You didn’t? Not by a long shot?
Maybe there’s anger at the source for a minute but usually, the frustration gets turned inward.
There is ZERO point in feeling stupid for being trusting and supportive. None whatsoever. Because the alternative to being trusting and supportive is being suspicious and guarded. Putting up walls has a cost unto itself, and it’s a cost I don’t want to pay.
On your path, the question is always about doing the best you can, in the moment. You literally cannot do better than “your best.”
I’m thinking when this hits, we must process and release. Process and release. Integrate the information into one’s worldview and then? Stop the freakin’ obsessing. Because in the obsessing, it becomes a thing. Obsessing turns a hurt into an entity in your life. And that’s not an entity I’m willing to invite in.

This week’s forecast is kind of like that. There’s a sense of the veil dropping with a big, fat thud. Clarity is coming in hard and fast and you know what? We ain’t gonna like it all.
But it’s better to have the truth than to like all that you see, you know?
The truths on tap this week will center largely around relationships and self–how your needs and wishes impact what you see in others. Sometimes you’ll have gussied it up, other times, dressed it down. But in each case, a perspective has been the deciding factor in conclusions, and that perspective is changing. The changes may be quite fast and hard. So put on your seatbelts, folks!
Monday, Truth – Nine of Cups: The truth sets you free? At least, it makes us a whole lot more content. Be honest and surround yourself with only others who are the same.
Tuesday, Positive Movement Forward – Ten of Cups Rx: Sure, maybe it’s not everything you wanted, everybody loving everybody else just so, exactly the way you wanted it. But it’s getting better, right? Build on that!
Wednesday, Shadow – The World Rx: A tendency to gloss over places where we’ve not behaved responsibly. It’s the reflection we’d prefer not to see. I’m telling ya, you’re better off being aware. This shadow dancing can cost a person–especially in terms of respect and relationships.
Thursday, Balance – Ten of Pentacles Rx: How invested are you in seeing what you want to see in loved ones? Maybe that perfect, happy picture isn’t true to life. Especially when it comes to family, acknowledge both the dark as well as the light and recognize the existence of what you don’t like, as well as what you do. If you’re feeling out of kilter in any close relationship, look at the possibility.
Friday, Hope – The Star Rx: Optimism is a bit elusive. It comes and goes. But being the conscious sort, you realize how heavily your thought process plays into the substance and sustenance of hope. You can work with that, right?
Saturday, Prosperity – Eight of Wands Rx: Edgy feeling, like money or moreso, that feeling of “enough” is somewhat uncertain or elusive. What you need is already coming through though, albeit not necessarily how you expected it to arrive.
Sunday, Heartache & Loss –The Lovers Rx: Sometimes, we feel stupid for not seeing the truth as it is. But that doesn’t mean a person is dumb. It means they see the world through their own lenses, and may have trouble thinking the way someone with different values, perspective and needs does. It matters little who is wrong, when you suffer a loss though. It still hurts. I see this as permission to move away from what doesn’t resonate with our own vibe and what we want in our lives. A prod, even. Because it’s hard and it hurts and it’s sad. But releasing what doesn’t fit anymore is SO important, even when it sucks at the time.
Overview/Advice, Disruption – Seven of Pentacles: Disruption you’re seeing this week? Necessary. It serves a longer-term purpose. What is shaken up now, needs to be shaken up. So mourn what you need to mourn and release.
Affirmation: Make a metaphor. Metaphors really open up possible perspectives and it can be a fun mental activity, too. Maybe not always super flattering, though. When I was in high school debate, one judge said my rapid-fire delivery made me a combine, trying to gobble up wheat before a storm. (Hello, Midwest USA!) I think I’ll go around this week saying things like, “I am the Queen of Swords, slicing through the bullshit!” Or maybe I’ll be the Magician, waving away those tricks. Or I’ll be a rock, solid and unmovable. Or I’ll be the wind…excuse me. I have some metaphoring to do.
