Sacrifice is certainly one element of Neptune, the modern association for the Hanged Man. But being a watery bastard, Neptune is never clear-cut.
Here’s what I’m seeing in “Sacrifice” today: Live true, with integrity, earmarking your sacrifices toward worthwhile ends. Here, we’re not talking martyrdom. I do not believe in wasting energy, a finite commodity for the physical form.
“Sacrifice” in this sense has a nobler ring. It’s a payment. If that payment is a good and fair exchange for what it purchases, you’ve done well. No one need be victim, if all act true in free will with a true heart.
