Today’s Tarot is the Four of Wands (Venus in Aries), here shown as “Foundation and Achievements.” You’re looking at a house you’ve built here, and it’s solid. Didn’t you notice?
Often arriving to herald weddings, big events and milestones, the traditional version of this card is generally a welcome guest in a reading. But before the wedding, before the awards banquet or big event, there is, always, the foundation that’s been built. Without it, the event would not have taken place.
Best to start building in humility. That’s the only way you can learn something new, you know. We must realized we don’t know it all already! Check. Then we move on to learn all we can. This is our foundation.
I see this card today as a nudge to acknowledge the foundations I’ve built in my life, and appreciate the benefit of the shelter they now provide. Those countless Tarot books I’ve read? All the years “playing” with the cards, Astrology, Numerology, Runes, etc., etc.? That wasn’t wasted effort. While it was play in that it IS a joy to me, more than that: It was building a foundation! It’s kind of awesome when you look around and realize just how much of a foundation you’ve built, and understand how that does prepare you for achievement.
