Everyday Tarot, 07/10/11: You’re Not Missing Anything | 3 Wands Rev, 2 Pentacles

daily-tarot-forecastI used to say, “I wouldn’t trade my problems for anything. They made me who I am.” Generally,  I still feel that way. But it doesn’t mean I never get disgusted with my problems, either.

Today’s Tarot forecast turned up an inverted Three of Wands (Lord of Established Strength/ Aries Sun—don’t wait around, resting on your laurels. Aries doesn’t approve. Ok. So what, then?

I asked for a little more to go on, and got the Two of Pentacles (Lord of Harmonious Change/Jupiter in Capricorn). Luck (Jupiter) comes from responsibly(Saturn)  managing your resources (Saturn).

We may be eternal energy, but we’re living in physical bodies. Physical bodies have a finite amount of energy to spend. So where do you want  your energy to go?

You can be mad, hurt, despondent—about whatever you haven’t gotten, what’s missing or wrong. But no matter how long you wait, how much energy you spend, it won’t bring what you’ve been denied into your life. Holding on enhances the sense of loss.

Still, those feelings are often a sign of healing. Only when we can begin to imagine ourselves with the life we long for does the disparity become so acute.   Before we can feel it as a possibility, it’s not a possibility.

And if we can’t create the exact circumstances we’d like, right this minute? Well, maybe we could juggle with the feelings we’d like to cultivate instead. We can rearrange the furniture we’ve got to make it better reflect the environment we want to live in, y’know? Maybe we can’t make ourselves instantaneously well, but we could probably help ourselves become healthier, feel better. We can’t change how others behave, but we can sure change how we interact.

And for all those things you didn’t get? Don’t worry. What you haven’t had colors your experience as much as what you have. Your specific journey, your particular set of experiences, gives you a specific skillets. Who knows what wonderful things you may decide to do with the tools you’ve earned through hardship? If you’re not tapping them now, consider it—fertilize some flowers from that poo pile!

Do you have skills forged from adversity?

  1. Yes, I do. And this morning I find myself telling the universe, I really don’t need anymore tools right now. Carry on and check with someone elase

  3. ROTFLMAO, Josi!!!

    Right there with ya.

Interesting about the tools in the toolbag analogy – exactly how I feel about a course I’m taking. I started about the same time all the shit started hitting the fan, health-wise. Which is ok – it’s giving me the tools to move on. I think I’ll look back on this past month or so, and realize I’ve been rocketed into another existence.
    Which is good!
