I used to annoy my kids to no end, promising them their childhood was a wonderful, magical time in their lives they should savor instead of wishing away. To them, the absolute freedom of being grown up, the right to pick dinners and bedtimes and television shows to watch represented absolute Nirvana. Turning 18 was the promised land and nothing anybody said was going to convince them adulthood was anything short of moonbeams and fairy dust that all goodness is crafted from. No matter how many times I did my “with privilege comes responsibility” spiel, it just didn’t make a dent.
Until they grew up and moved out, that is.
Today’s Tarot Forecast is the inverted Two of Wands or “Lord of Dominion,” associated with Mars in Aries. As one of the Tarot Twos, there is emphasis on duality. You’ll often see this card show up when there are mixed feelings over an accomplishment, as Tarot Twos always highlight duality. Generally, it does speak to a realm you have some mastery over and there’s indication of success overall, but not a sense of being done yet. You’re a great housekeeper, but maybe you don’t know which mess it’s your job to clean up! Inverted, maybe you’d be better off dropping them all.
When you see the inverted Two of Wands, it’s not a bad time to question your assumptions—both over how “made” somebody else has it and how made your own life is. Look at what job belongs to whom, and ask yourself if you’re doing your own well enough, addressing your priorities in a way you’re satisfied with. Use a Mars focus for your energy now—focus on yourself and what YOU want to get done. The rest will sort itself out and you’ll feel less unsettled for it.
