“Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls.” -Joseph Campbell
I used to watch interviews sometimes, with outrageously successful people talking about the secrets of their success. Yes, I was looking for tips! Insights I could utilize myself.
Because I already knew I am wicked smart and creative and I wanted to understand, what do they have going on that I did not? I wanted some of that.
And I often got annoyed at the advice I heard.
“Follow your heart. Dream big. Don’t let anyone else tell you what you can or cannot do. Take a chance. Listen to your gut.”
Sure, they seemed sincere and were clearly trying to help. But really, how do you do this? I wasn’t able to hear what they were saying about focusing on what they wanted, because I was very much focused on what I was missing. You can’t feel your way to what you want when you’re energy is fully engaged with obsessing over not having it.
The Ace of Pentacles from the Psychic Heart Tarot is “Strengthening Bonds.” Add to that Sweet Pea from the Botanical Inspirations deck, and we’ve got “Blissful Pleasure.” Merry Christmas!
Our job isn’t to sort the world into righteousness and sin. I mean, you could do that if you wanted to. But oy, what a thankless, unpleasant and generally unrewarding task. Not to mention how it’s never done.
I prefer another option. I’ve made it my job is to find my own, personal righteousness–living, breathing, and simply being in a way that feels like the best way to live. And there are perks.
Then, the appropriate connections show up. The support appears. No need to go seeking. No need to toil and fuss and fight and scheme a way through to an end result. No split energy, and no mixed feelings. No mental wrestling over what might go wrong or what’s not going right or when, how, and wherefore all of this might work out.
What you need just shows up. On cue, as you let it in. It takes a light touch and a shot of faith to hit that sweet spot but man, when you do? It’s so much easier and so much more fun. You manage to get out of your own way.

Pentacles are real-world, physical manifestation. The Ace is the seed, the beginning of physical manifestation. This week, try to let go of everything that doesn’t please you. You don’t have to worry or wrestle anything into shape. You just have to feel your way through it, following that bliss, those good-feeling emotions, looking at what pleases you merely because it pleases you. In that state, the action you take will be inspired (and therefore, effective).
That is enough. And if you try this as an experiment even for a few days, you’ll see just what I’m talking about.
Armchair Astrology
Mercury is direct! So the kinks we’ve seen over the last few weeks when Mercury was retrograde should all be at least in the process of unkinking. Expect issues surrounding communications in particular to go smoother.
We’ve also got some serious astrological action in Capricorn at the moment. That translates to responsibility: doing the right thing, best you can, and being a grown up about it. Goals are more achievable with a step-by-step approach. Capricorn season isn’t just a time to do you work–with Venus in Capricorn, you’ll be rewarded most if you can find ways to LOVE your work. So set about identifying lots to appreciate about your own productive projects to see them blossom. This isn’t an all-at-once thing. It’s a step-by-step and love-every-step thing, for the best outcome.
