Where do I even start with this one?
Another of the Tarot Eights today—that means we need dedication and focus and perseverance to work through whatever it is sticking in our craw. Happy joy, huh? But enough bellyaching!
The Eight of Swords is a very familiar card for me. I get it frequently in self-reading. Does the phrase “your own worst enemy” resonate? Because she usually is exactly that. I see this card often in reference to self-made traps. The limitations referenced are INTERNAL ones.
Somebody else may or may not have weaved that web, but even if she was a victim initially, the perpetrator is long departed. The cost of extricating herself is to be paid with a little blood drawn from the swords no doubt, but more than anything, it involves setting aside her fears of the pain itself, which is likely to be much less severe or lasting than she’s built it up to be. Keeping the blindfold on doesn’t allow her to see how attainable freedom is.
This means, wherever you find yourself most stuck, hemmed in, trapped, look harder. Look again. Look at your assumptions about what is and what “must be” because you know what? If you’re willing to release some of that, if you’re willing to sacrifice some of the story you’ve settled upon, if you’re willing to forgo the ending you’ve written, you can move on.
