7 of Pentacles Rx, Chariot: Not What I Planted

It’s been a few years since I packed up and moved to the Ozarks, and this time of year always stirs up a lot. It’s not just the New Year or anniversary of that big move—I had a bunch of significant events about this time spread out over the last several years.

And every one of these events shook up my life. And for each, they reshaped my world in ways I never could’ve imagined (and largely ways I never would have chosen). Healing hasn’t come the way I imagined either, but it has.

I’ve found a flavor of peace—different than what I’d daydreamed before packing up and heading out, but honest and real. And as much as it wasn’t what I was to plant, I grew what I needed, nonetheless.

I never was one to trade it a challenging truth for a more comfortable lie. And this week’s cards bring a similar energy—a mix of reflection, redirection, and potential for forward momentum if you can let yourself be where you are.

Next Week in the Cards

We’re working with the Meows Tarot and the cats have delivered their usual sassy and lighthearted wisdom.

Outlook is the Seven of Pentacles (Fishes) reversed. The Seven of Pentacles reversed suggests some efforts may not be paying off as you’d hoped. It’s a card of missteps or unfruitful labor, where the results don’t match the energy you’ve put in. You didn’t get what you’d intended. The harvest has gone awry.

Frustrating? Absolutely. But not pointless. You learn things you didn’t know, about the situations, the conditions, the truth. Every experience adds more clarity, teaching you what doesn’t work. That clarity is pure gold. The lessons you’ve learned will always guide your next steps, so even when the harvest feels sparse a given year, think of it as preparing the soil for a better yeild next time.

Advice comes in the form of The Chariot. The Chariot reminds you to keep moving. It’s a card of determination, focus, and using everything you’ve got—perfect hits, wild misses, and everything in between—to propel forward. Don’t linger too long on what didn’t work. See it, understand it, and send love to the you who experienced it. And then, channel your energy in the next direction in preparation for peaceful motion into the future.

Progress doesn’t require perfection, just persistence. You always keep moving.

Now, for you:

Are you bothered by any outcomes that didn’t match your expectations? How might you honor your efforts and earlier dreams without feeling stuck? How might you find the peace to move forward?
