“Oh, self-care, self-care, self-care. Blah blah blah.” ~Dix
I’m always preaching about self-care—telling myself I’ll do more of it, telling you to do more of it. And while I know it’s crucial, let’s be real: most of the time, I push it aside in favor of what others need or want. It’s probably 80% others, 20% me, on a good day.
But I’m flipping that stat, and these cards? They’ve got me feeling validated.
This Week in the Cards
How sweet is this duo from the Legacy of the Divine deck? I’m into it.
For the week’s vibe, we’ve got the Queen of Pentacles—bright, nurturing, and practical. She knows how to care for herself, even though she often finds fulfillment in feeding others. Helping out can be a form of self-care, if it’s not the only form, and you don’t put it above your own needs. After all, we’ve only got so much energy to spend in this physical world.
She’s paired with the Nine of Cups for advice. True satisfaction isn’t about being smug. It’s about savoring your choices. Find peace and joy in the way you care for yourself and others.
Remember: You can’t set the table for anyone if you’re starving. But when you’re happy, thoughtful, and attending to your own needs first, there’s so much more to give. So, fill your own cup and enjoy what’s left to share.
Ask yourself: What’s one way I can feed my own needs this week, so I have more to give when it matters?
