Cayce Chakras and Lord's Prayer
E. Cayce sketch on the chakra correspondences for “The Lord’s Prayer”

Edgar Cayce, famed psychic, healer and trance channel, taught that “The Lord’s Prayer” corresponds to the major chakras, saying that reciting this prayer was one way to keep the chakra energy in alignment.

Our Father, which art in heaven / 6th – 3rd Eye Chakra

Hallowed be thy name / 7th – Crown Chakra

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. /5th – Throat Chakra

Give us this day our daily bread /1st – Root Chakra

And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us. /3rd – Solar Plexus Chakra

And lead us not into temptation  /2nd – Sacral Chakra

But deliver us from evil. /4th – Heart Chakra

For thine is the kingdom /5th – Throat Chakra

And the glory, for ever and ever. /6th – 3rd Eye Chakra

  1. Reading about Cayce changed my life. My parents were in an ARE group and I found the books in our house and couldn’t put them down.

So I actually do this with the Lord’s Prayer and the chakras. Cayce said to begin your meditation in a certain way, including the Lord’s Prayer, neck exercises, and focusing on physical, mental and emotional “ideals”.

I know a lot of people who combine traditional Christianity with more metaphysical concepts because of Cayce. Well, they were my parents friends in that group. They all met in the choir at our Catholic church. Even our church had another type of meditation class at that time in the early 70’s.

    1. Very cool, sofie! It never ceases to amaze me, how contentious people can become over differing spiritual inclinations when to me, it is indeed different windows upon the same scenery. That’s why I love running across this kind of bridging, you know?
